Request data deletion
Use this page to ask us to delete personal data associated with your use of the Weather Then app. We do not require an account; deletion requests are handled by email.
How to request deletion
- Email support@weather-then.com with the subject line Weather Then data deletion request.

Include anything that helps us find related records, such as:
- Approximate dates you used the app
- Places or city names you looked up
- The install ID, if you still have the app (About or Settings may show support details; otherwise describe your device and when you installed)
- We will confirm receipt and complete the request, or explain what we could not locate, typically within 30 days.
What you can delete on your device anytime
- Delete saved places in the app, or uninstall Weather Then to remove local data on that device (saved places, settings, the local install ID).
- Revoke location permission in your device settings at any time.
What we delete when you request it
When we can associate records with your request, we delete or erase:
- Server-side identifiers tied to your install (such as the install ID used for rate limiting and analytics), where still stored
- Analytics events we can reasonably attribute to that install ID
- Operational logs that still contain your request identifiers and are not required for security or legal retention
What may be kept
- Aggregated or anonymized analytics and metrics that no longer identify an install
- Shared climate data (for example NOAA station observations and derived climate products) — this is not personal to you and is not deleted for individual requests
- Records we must keep temporarily for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance, then removed when no longer needed
- Data held only by third parties we do not control (for example a weather provider’s own logs of a forecast request). We do not sell personal information; see our Privacy Policy
Retention
After we fulfill a verified deletion request, we aim to remove identifiable records promptly. Any limited retention for security or legal reasons is kept only as long as reasonably necessary, then deleted or aggregated. Routine analytics and logs that were never tied to a deletion request are kept only as long as needed for operations and product analysis, then deleted or aggregated.
